Goals and Ambitions

Ambitions are why we wake up in the morning.  Colorado has beautiful sunrises and we should great each one with our intent to make the most of the day.  I post these here because maybe you know something I don’t, that could help me reach one.  Here’s my’ list:


  • Get Married
  • Have at least 2 children
  • Buy my mom a 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit Convertible -White
  • Buy a home that has a garage for my unreliable car
  • Buy a car that’s 100% un-reliable, like a 1978 Ford Bronco


  • Finish my MBA   Completed: July 2010
  • Start a business that grosses over $100,000 a year,with at least 1 additional employee
  • Speak before a crowd over over 200 on a industry topic, for at least 45 minutes
  • Have a blog published on SEOmoz.org
  • Somehow write off season tickets to the Rockies as a Biz expense
  • Qualify for the Bard Center Biz Plan Competition round 1
  • Guest Lecture a class on Small biz to CSU Landscape Design Students
  • Get someone to build my child safe/environmental/hidden water feature that I’ve been walking around with plans in my head for the last 3 years

Travel/Outdoor Adventure

  • Hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu
  • See Germany
  • See India
  • Return to Budapest
  • See Norway   Done! 9 days in June 2011 with Alison
  • Camp during the serious winter months above 9’000 feet elevation outdoors
  • See Japan

Totally Random

  • Teach a winning a High School Marching Band State Championship Group  Done! Finally! Englewood HS, 2010
  • Hang glide
  • Get my Private Pilot’s license
  • Paraglide
  • Heli-ski (snowboard)
  • Do a standing backflip (Parkour)  Sadly, removed due to injury :(
  • Make a 10′ wall run (Parkour)  Sadly, removed due to injury :(
  • Qualify for a Parkour event (Parkour)   Sadly, removed due to injury :(
  • Get a 180 rotation on snowboard
  • Get a 360 rotation snowboard
  • Take a lesson to ride moguls on snowboard
  • Learn any other Language  (I’ve tried…I swear)
  • Hit a home run (this isn’t a metaphor, I literally mean hit a ball out of the fenced area of play, using a bat)
      • Up Date: 7/29/2011 Time in a batting case proves that this goal is still very far away.
